For the first time, THE AMBIENT MACHINE is available outside Japan. This second Cornelius Edition marks the 25th anniversary of Point, the landmark 2001 album that redefined Cornelius' sound — a collaboration between sound artist Yuri Suzuki and Cornelius, featuring tracks from the album reworked by Keigo Oyamada specifically for THE AMBIENT MACHINE.

32 switches, 8 sound sources, endless combinations of tone, texture and rhythm, built into a hand-crafted instrument for composing your own ambient world. Limited to 100 numbered pieces worldwide, each signed by Cornelius.

Applications open 21 August, 13:00 (CEST) — 31 August, 13:00 (CEST).

Recipients will be selected by lottery among applicants. All units sold outside Japan ship from TYFC HQ in Copenhagen.

"I first encountered Cornelius's Point when I was at university. Released after the whirlwind sound collages of Fantasma, it struck a new direction — when I first heard it on the radio, I couldn't immediately tell it was a Cornelius work.
Built from a stripped-down number of sounds and meticulously chosen tones, Point holds both experimentalism and an ambient sensibility, and became a defining work in Keigo Oyamada's subsequent music. For me too, this album was what first got me thinking about the structure and function of music, and the role sound plays within space and everyday life.
Twenty-five years have passed since then. It is a great honour to now present a new work together with Keigo Oyamada, built on the very album that made such a strong impression on me at the time.
For this piece, Keigo Oyamada himself has reconstructed the music of Point into THE AMBIENT MACHINE format. The quietness, delicate tones, and sense of time that run through the album remain intact, presented here as a new listening experience."
